We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Drug and Alcohol Collection Technician to perform DOT and non-DOT specimen collections and alcohol testing. This position requires professionalism, accurate documentation, respect for donor privacy, and consistent adherence to applicable collection procedures.
Assignments may take place at collection offices, employer worksites, or mobile testing locations. Depending on scheduling needs, work may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform DOT and non-DOT urine specimen collections according to applicable procedures and company protocols.
  • Conduct breath alcohol testing when appropriately trained and qualified.
  • Perform oral fluid, hair, or other specimen collections as assigned and within documented qualifications.
  • Verify donor identification, review testing authorizations, and explain the collection process clearly.
  • Complete paper and electronic custody and control forms accurately.
  • Maintain specimen integrity, chain of custody, secure handling, and timely preparation for laboratory shipment.
  • Protect confidential donor and employer information.
  • Recognize collection irregularities and promptly report concerns through established procedures.
  • Maintain collection supplies, testing equipment, and clean, secure collection areas.
  • Coordinate with scheduling staff, employer representatives, laboratories, and other testing partners.
  • Travel to employer worksites and mobile collection assignments as required.
  • Provide courteous, respectful service while maintaining collection standards.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using electronic forms and scheduling systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage appointments, and meet time-sensitive requirements.
  • Reliable transportation for assignments requiring travel.
  • Willingness to complete required training and demonstrate proficiency before independently performing assigned testing services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current DOT urine specimen collector qualification, including required proficiency demonstrations.
  • Current Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) qualification.
  • Experience performing DOT and non-DOT workplace testing.
  • Experience with FormFox, eScreen, electronic custody and control forms, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp, or other laboratory collection procedures.
  • Background in occupational health, specimen collection, medical assisting, phlebotomy, or mobile testing.
  • Availability for after-hours and post-accident testing assignments.
Training and Qualifications
Applicants should identify their current collector and alcohol testing qualifications, training dates, and relevant experience. Training opportunities may be available for otherwise qualified candidates. Technicians must complete all required training and proficiency requirements before performing services independently.

Work Environment
This role involves direct interaction with donors, handling biological specimens, standing during collection activities, and transporting collection supplies. Mobile assignments may require travel to industrial, transportation, construction, and other employer locations.
